Euclidean reconstruction from contour matches

چکیده
This paper presents a method that recovers a Euclidean structure from contour matching results. If three or more views are available, structure reconstruction without camera calibration is possible. This is the rst attempt at structure reconstruction from contour matches, though there are works on structure reconstruction from point matches. We also propose a new method that integrates more than one reconstructed 3D structure whose coordinates are represented by diierent camera projection matrices, so that the structures are uniformly represented by the projection matrix of the rst camera.

3D Reconstruction of Human Faces from Occluding Contours
In this paper we take a fresh look at the problem of extracting shape from contours of human faces. We focus on two key questions: how can we robustly fit a 3D face model to a given input contour; and, how much information about shape does a single contour image convey. Our system matches silhouettes and inner contours of a PCA based Morphable Model to an input contour image. We discuss differe...

Digital automation in reconstruction of apictorial hand torn paper document increases efficacy and reduces human effort. Reconstruction of torn document has importance in various fields like archaeology, art conservation and forensic sciences. The devised novel technique for hand torn paper document, consists of pre-processing, feature extraction and reconstruction phase. Torn fragment’s bounda...
متن کامل3d Surface Reconstruction from Horizons
In this paper we present a general solution to the problem of 3D reconstruction from the analysis of luminance edges, which takes into account possible viewer-dependent characteristics of such contours. The method first proceeds by matching contours in a loose fashion, so that both sharp edges and horizons are included. Classical stereometric methods allow us to detect sharp edges and rule out ...
متن کاملEuclidean Structure from Uncalibrated Images
A number of recent papers have demonstrated that camera "selfcalibration" can be accomplished purely from image measurements, without requiring special calibration objects or known camera motion. We describe a method, based on self-calibration, for obtaining (scaled) Euclidean structure from multiple uncalibrated perspective images using only point matches between views. The method is in two st...
متن کاملAffine Surface Reconstruction by Purposive Viewpoint Control
We present an approach for building an affine representation of an unknown curved object viewed under orthographic projection from images of its occluding contour. It is based on the observation that the projection of a point on a curved, featureless surface can be computed along a special viewing direction that does not belong to the point’s tangent plane. We show that by circumnavigating the ...
